Still new at this I'm at level 11.I try to trade with people and never get anything offered to me .I mean how much do you have to offer ?.For example I offered 1,000 gold and a good axe-no response. Also in armor what is a Cuirass ? I'm playing fighter/mage and I don't want to spend money on some garment for a witch. thanks

First thing, armor is specific to your primary profession, so if you are a warrior, you can only have warrior armor. Here's a link to the wiki about armors: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Category:Armor everything you want to know should be in there. Cuirass refers to the chest piece of your armor.

As for trading, you have to advertise what you want to sell/buy and also what you want/offer in exchange for those items. Trying a random trade won't work since the person has no idea of what you are looking for. Also, no one will buy a weapon that isn't max damage with good mods. People usually trade for rare skin weapons, green weapons and some rare or expensive crafting materials, miniatures and a few other items that usually come from high-end areas. that you don't really have access to until you reach level 20 on one of your characters.

Another thing about armor: You can only get armor that you can wear from armor crafters or collectors. Do not buy armor from other players - it's all customized for that character.

Trading: See all that "WTB" and "WTS" stuff on the chat channels? That's people trying to trade. WTB = Want to buy. WTS = Want to Sell. WTT = Want to Trade. You can also look at the Party window (Press "P") in the main trading centers to see what many people are buying and selling.

Check the Ventari's Sell section of these forums for pricing guides & another option for trading.

What exactly are you doing when you 'try to trade with people'? If you run up to someone and put money and items into a trade window without even talking to them, then of course they are just going to ignore you. You have to communicate with people you know - they are live people, not computer generated! =)
